It was a pleasure to speak at the annual Taking Nature Black festival, hosted by the Audubon Naturalist Society. This year’s title was ‘Call and Response, Elevating our Stories, Naturally‘. I took part in a panel discussion ‘Breaking Colonization’s Hold on the Environment’ exploring “how to break the “fourth wall” of “whiteness as the norm” in spaces and places that have yet to learn who we are as people of color”, alongside my US colleagues, Fred Tutman, Lois Yena Chang and Victoria Owens.
